Queens Park Rangers defender Kaspars Gorkss has been given the all-clear to resume training.

Specialists give R's defender the thumbs up

QPR's Kaspars Gorkss has been given the all-clear to resume training after picking up a facial injury against Sheffield Wednesday. The Latvia international played the full 90 minutes of Rangers' 3-2 victory over The Owls on Easter Monday despite sustaining a nasty cut to his head. However, the club's head physio Paul Hunter has confirmed specialists have given the 27-year-old the green light to train on Thursday meaning he should be available to face leaders Wolves this weekend.

Quite sore

"The cut was down to the very bone," Hunter told the club's official website. "The gash itself was about two-and-a-half inches deep, so he'll be quite sore this morning. "But the specialists have given him the go-ahead to resume full training on Thursday with the rest of the lads and assuming he has no setbacks between now and then, he'll be in contention for the trip to Wolves at the weekend."
