Full-back left in limbo as discussions continue over loan extension

Matt Lockwood has been 'left in limbo' after revealing to skysports.com that his proposed loan extension at Barnet has stalled. On Wednesday, Barnet announced that they had agreed with Lockwood's parent club, Colchester United, for the full-back to remain at Underhill for a further month. However, Lockwood has explained that negotiations are ongoing with Barnet and Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling. The 32-year-old told skysports.com: "The Barnet move hasn't gone through yet. "As far as I was concerned it had done, as I have signed all the forms, but then Colchester's chairman has tried to negotiate the deal, in terms of how much of my wages Barnet are going to pay, I think. "I'm not sure whether another club has shown interest in taking me on loan or not and that is why negotiations have stalled the move or not, but I'm a bit in limbo with it all. "I have no idea whether the move will go through. I spoke to (Colchester boss) Paul Lambert about it this morning and he wasn't sure what had happened, so I'm just waiting to see where I go for training tomorrow really. "At the end of the day Barnet have got a huge game against Chester on Saturday and I want to be part of it if I am going to stay there. I'll have to just wait and see though as it is out of my hands."
