Nardiello and Rehman leave QPR for Blackpool

Blackpool have signed Daniel Nardiello and Zesh Rehman from Queens Park Rangers to allow Kaspars Gorkss to move in the opposite direction. QPR's pursuit of Gorkss has been one of the most protracted transfer sagas of the summer in the Championship. The Latvian defender was identified as one of Iain Dowie's top targets some time ago but the two clubs had not been able to come to an agreement. The matter has now finally been resolved and the Seasiders will receive both Rehman and Nardiello as well as a cash payment of more than £250,000. Striker Nardiello has agreed a two-year deal with an option for a further 12 months. Pakistan international Rehman has joined on a six-month loan and Blackpool will then have the chance to make the move permanent in January.

Grayson glad

Simon Grayson is happy the issue has been sorted and delighted with the new arrivals at Bloomfield Road. "The deal is almost done and dusted and I am glad that it has all got sorted," Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette. "As part of the deal we will be getting a couple of players in Zesh Rehman and Daniel Nardiello and money on top of that and it's nice it's been resolved. "We've got two players who we think will benefit the football club and we wish Kaspars well because he was a good servant for the football club. "But you have to move on in football and I'm glad to have the two players on board that we've signed."
