Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is close to bolstering his Cardiff squad with three new signings.

Manchester United duo Wilfried Zaha and Fabio joined Stoke's Kenwyne Jones at St George's Park on Sunday to undergo medicals, ahead of proposed moves to south Wales.

It is understood that England U21 winger Zaha will join the Bluebirds on loan for the remainder of the season for a fee in the region of £1.5million, having made just four appearances for United this term - one of those in the Community Shield win over Wigan.

Brazilian full-back Fabio was also putting the finishing touches to his deal, though that switch - for an undisclosed fee - will be permanent.

Meanwhile, Jones will boost Cardiff as part of a swap deal that will see Nigeria international Peter Odemwingie move the other way to the Britannia.

Potters boss Mark Hughes confirmed the swap was imminent after his side's 1-0 defeat at Chelsea, saying: "It should go through tomorrow and will be concluded then. We're pleased to get Peter in.

"He's a good Premiership player with experience at this level, a goal in him and a bit of pace - which we need to add to the squad. (I'm) pleased to add him."

Jones was fined and dropped earlier this month after sending a text message to Hughes the night before Stoke's 5-3 home Premier League defeat to Liverpool on January 12 saying he was not available to play.

Speaking earlier to Sky Sports News upon arrival at St George's Park, the striker said: "Of course (I'm excited about the move).

"It's playing football so I'm really happy to go and try and help Cardiff City stay in the Premier League."
