Pennant relishing competition

Jermaine Pennant has insisted he would not be fazed by the arrival of another winger at Stoke as he is determined to keep his place in the side.

Winger not worried about the arrival of new players

Stoke's Jermaine Pennant has insisted he would not be fazed by the arrival of another winger at the Britannia Stadium as he is determined to keep his place in the side. Tony Pulis is keen to increase competition within the Potters squad and has been linked with a summer swoop for Matt Jarvis of Wolves. The signing of such a player would put Pennant under pressure but he maintains he is ready for the challenge. The 29-year-old has been with the club for a couple of years after initially joining on loan from Real Zaragoza, and believes he has the ability to command a regular spot in the team. "Pre-season is here and no matter what winger we buy they will not cross a ball like me," Pennant said on Twitter. "I'm rolling up socks and sleeves and going for it."
