Keeper expects Sorensen recall for FA Cup tie against Liverpool

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic looks likely to make way for Thomas Sorensen ahead of Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final tie against Liverpool. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has recently re-established himself as the Potters' first choice keeper, but Tony Pulis is expected to recall Sorensen for the remaining cup matches, as he did last season. Begovic was not included in the Stoke squad that lost in the final to Manchester City last season and whilst disappointed, he can understand Pulis' decision. He told The Sentinel: "Of course it would be disappointing if I don't play because you obviously want to win these games.

Big Prize

"The most important thing is to be playing week-in, week-out in the Premier League, but you also want to be playing in other big games for the club. That's normal." Stoke will be hopeful of a result on Saturday, although history is against them having not won at Anfield in over 50 years. Begovic, 24, expressed his desire to play a part, saying: "I'm available for selection and would love to play but I don't know what the manager's plans are. The Liverpool game is a big prize." Begovic added: "We have done well against them at their place before, so we will give it our best shot again and see what we can do."
