Dane set for Stoke talks

Stoke are hoping to complete a deal for former Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen. The 32-year-old has been on trial with the Potters after leaving Villa at the end of last season. Sorensen has impressed Stoke boss Tony Pulis during his training stint and the Dane is set to have talks over a move to the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday.

Talks

"The agent's coming in to speak to Tony (Scholes, chief executive) on Wednesday and hopefully we'll conclude a deal," said Pulis. "I think that the signings that we've made so far, and hopefully we can get Thomas, are good signings. "I think they'll all improve the team and we've got to get players who will come in and do that, not just be squad players." News of Sorensen's possible move to Stoke could end interest in Sunderland custodian Marton Fulop, who has been struggling to agree terms over a possible move to the Premier League new boys.
