Chadwick excited by City move

Luke Chadwick says it was an easy decision to join Stoke on a permanent basis.

Luke Chadwick says it was an easy decision to join Stoke City from West Ham despite late interest from Championship rivals Watford.

The former Manchester United winger has been on loan at the Britannia Stadium since the start of the season and has now completed a £100,000 switch.

After signing a two-and-a-half year contract with the Potters, the 25-year-old said he was looking forward to his future at the club.

"I'm delighted things are finally sorted out," said Chadwick, who has made 24 appearances this season despite a series of niggling injuries. "I've really enjoyed my time here.

"The manager, the players and the fans have made me feel so welcome since I arrived in the summer - so it was an easy decision to make.

"It's true West Ham also accepted an offer from Watford and although it was flattering to be linked with them, as long as Stoke were interested I was always going to come here.

"I like the style of football the manager wants us to play. It's much more about possession and very similar to my experiences in Belgium with Royal Antwerp.

"When I originally came here on loan at the start of the season the team was virtually thrown together. But we now have a good nucleus of players and I think we're certainly capable of getting into the play-offs."
