Transfer news: Kenny Jackett admits Bakary Sako could leave Wolves

Kenny Jackett has admitted Wolves are unlikely to stand in Bakary Sako's way if he is wanted by a top-flight club.

The head coach has a gentleman's agreement with Sako that, if a Premier League club comes in, Wolves will speak to the striker about it.

Sako is out of contract in the summer and has scored seven goals this season - and Jackett has left the door open for an exit.

"We've had some transparency with Sako," Jackett told the Wolverhampton Express & Star.

"We've said 'look, if a Premier League club comes in for you, we'll speak to you'.

"And because of that, we've got the best out of him.

"We haven't had a bid and we don't want one but if a Premier League club makes the right offer, we'd speak to the player."

But Jackett reiterated Sako would not leave Molineux on the cheap and they are under no pressure to sell him.

"We paid £2.5million for him, but there's no desperation to sell him," he said. "Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey would love him to see the season out and then talk in the summer. Sako is relaxed about the situation."
