Sky Bet Championship: Wolves captain Sam Ricketts available for loan

Wolves captain Sam Ricketts could go out on loan, head coach Kenny Jackett has revealed.

The defender has made just five appearaces this season and is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

Ricketts has fallen behind Dominic Iorfa, Matt Doherty and Ethan Ebanks-Landell for the right-back spot at Molineux, while his last game came in November and Jackett admitted he would allow the 33-year-old out on loan.

"Yes we would, but no-one's come in for him and Sam hasn't been jumping up and down to go out necessarily," he told the Wolverhampton Express & Star.

"Sam's been out of the picture and, with younger players showing the form they have, first-team prospects are slim.

"They're all ahead of him which makes it tough to get back in the team with his contract running out.

"Some younger players have come through, (Richard) Stearman's found some form, (Danny) Batth has come back very well and we've talked a lot about the two full-backs."
