Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed that Sierra Leone forward Kei Kamara has been training with the club this week.

The 30-year-old has been a free agent since August after his contract at Middlesbrough was cancelled by mutual consent.

With Kamara aiming to secure a contract at the Black Country club, Jackett says they will further assess the former Norwich loanee in the coming days.

“He is an experienced front player and having left Middlesbrough on August 30th he is looking for a club,” Jackett told Wolves’ official website.

“We will be talking to him and there will be some summing up afterwards as to where he is.

“But he’s a free agent looking for a club and has been to us for two days, which was the original agreement.

“He’s done OK, and from finding out about his overall situation, he would need a work permit because he’s a Sierra Leone international.”

Would we prefer to be with Nouha Dicko? Yes, definitely. His pace over the top from that position is quite key and has been key to how we have played.

Striker Nouha Dicko will miss Sunday’s trip to Reading with a hamstring injury, and the Wolves boss believes his absence will not force Kamara’s deal through.

“I don’t think there’s a greater urgency," said Jackett.

“We’re always looking to improve – our scouting department doesn’t rest really and then start up when you need it.

“Would we prefer to be with Nouha Dicko? Yes, definitely. His pace over the top from that position is quite key and has been key to how we have played definitely. So for us it will be a loss because he’s had a successful period at the club,” he added.

“Will anyone be coming in from the outside before tomorrow? No. It’s down to the players.”
