Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has said that he wants Bakary Sako to remain at the club.
The 26-year-old Mali international winger joined Wolves from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2012 and has proved to be an important player for the newly-promoted Championship club.
Sako’s impressive performances have sparked suggestions that Premier League teams could make offers for him in this transfer window.
However, Jackett has insisted that Wolves have yet to receive any bid for the former Chateauroux player and wants him to remain part of his team for the 2014/15 season.
“Sako is here, he’s a good player who’s settled at the club and I think he’ll play well for us this season,” the 52-year-old is quoted as saying by the Express & Star.
“It will be exactly the same situation as before - he’s a player who gets linked in the press and we understand that.
“But Bakary came back on Monday and there are no problems. The last game he played was for Mali against Croatia on May 31.
“He then had a couple of weeks off and then did his running programme and feels good.
“He was in early on Monday morning and took part in the 11-a-side and feels fine.”
