Forest and Leeds drop late points; Wolves earn first league win

Blackpool are setting the early pace at the top of the table while some of the pressure eased on Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle. Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest dropped late points but there were wins for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough. Leeds United looked set to move to the top of table with another three points, having already defeated Wolves, but Ian Holloway's 2011/12 defeated play-off finalists, Blackpool, came from a goal down in the final 15 minutes at Bloomfield Road to win 2-1 and build on their own success over Millwall. The new era at Nottingham Forest was on course to continue in 100 per cent fashion but star striker Jordan Rhodes' injury-time penalty snatched a point for home side Huddersfield Town in a 1-1 draw. In the wake of Saturday's loss at former club Burnley, Bolton manager Coyle was booed at half-time after a goalless opening 45 minutes at the Reebok Stadium against Derby County but Kevin Davies and Chris Eagles goals solved some of the problems in a 2-0 win. Relegated Wolves responded to their cruel defeat by Leeds on Saturday as Stale Solbakken's side picked up three points in a 3-1 win over Barnsley, which included Stephen Ward's first goal since January.

Dream start

Last season's League One champions, Charlton, were denied a dream start to life back in the Championship when being pegged back in a last-gasp draw at Birmingham on Saturday but star striker Bradley Wright-Phillips and Yann Kermorgant ensured a 2-1 win over Leicester City. An error from Jack Butland and a debut strike from on-loan Barcelona striker Rodri were among the goals which gave Sheffield Wednesday a 3-2 win over Birmingham City at Hillsborough. Josh McEachran's debut, Adam Reach's spectacular strike and Luke Williams' late winner all featured for Tony Mowbray's Middlesbrough as they picked up a first league win of the season in a 3-2 victory over Burnley at The Riverside. Crystal Palace remain without a point this season after the opening day defeat by Watford was followed by a heavy 4-1 loss at Bristol City, who responded to their setback at Nottingham Forest. Millwall came from a goal down at London Road to defeat Peterborough United 2-1 with goals from Scott Malone and Darius Henderson. Ipswich Town grabbed a late win thanks to Michael Chopra's last-gasp goal at Watford while Brighton and Hove Albion and Cardiff City could somehow not be separated in an end-to-end goalless draw.
