Wolves finally appear set to capture Iceland international Bjorn Sigurdarson after confirming an undisclosed fee has been agreed with the striker's club Lillestrom.
Sigurdarson has been a target for Wolves since the appointment of Stale Solbakken as manager and he was also linked with the likes of Everton, Reading and Cardiff City.
A potential deal appeared to the hit the buffers last week when Sigurdarson tweeted that he was 'mentally destroyed' after being told to stay at Lillestrom.
However, the two clubs have now settled on a fee, reported to be in the region of £2.4million, and Sigurdarson will discuss a four-year contract at Molineux.
He will be available for Lillestrom's next three games and will leave the Norwegian club for Wolves following the match against Tromso on 13th July.
Exciting
Solbakken told the club's
official website: "I am very pleased that an agreement has been reached for us to sign Bjorn.
"He is an exciting young prospect who has the quality to help us achieve our aims both in the short and long term.
"We look forward to the deal being completed next month after which Bjorn will be able to join us as we prepare for the new season."
CEO Jez Moxey added: "We are pleased to have reached agreement with Lillestrom which will see Bjorn become a Wolves player, subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
"Negotiations have been slightly more complex than usual due to the Norwegian League being halfway through the season, but as a result of extensive discussions we now have an agreement.
"Bjorn is a young and exciting striker and has been very keen to join us, particularly to work with our new manager Stale Solbakken."
