Defender looking to return a better player next season

Ronald Zubar hopes to come back stronger next season after a back injury ruled him out for the remainder of this term. Wolves manager Mick McCarthy confirmed on Monday that Zubar was facing a lengthy lay-off following back surgery. The French defender admits he is desperately disappointed not to be able to play a part in the run-in as Wolves aim to avoid relegation. However, he has now pledged to become the club's 'No.1 fan' whilst he works hard on recovering as quickly as possible. The 25-year-old has established himself as a key man at Molineux since arriving from Marseille in 2009, but would like to return to action an even better player.

Gutted

He said: "Yes my back has let me down but to be honest I am gutted, it is a big moment for the club and I can't help them on the field. "I have now become the number one fan of the club. "Hopefully we can make it again this year, for the fans and the gaffer. "This is a very good club. I hope to come back stronger next season."
