Defensive starlet hoping to pick up valuable experience with Blades

Danny Batth hopes his loan switch to Sheffield United will allow him to experience regular football. The 20-year-old defender has joined the Blades from Wolves until 3rd January and is determined to make his mark at Bramall Lane. He got a first taste of life at the Blades in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Bristol City and admits he has now set his sights on earning a place in Gary Speed's starting XI. Batth said: "I only joined up with the lads on Friday for the last training session and then it was off down to Bristol in the afternoon, but I was just as disappointed at how things went as everyone else. "It's a great opportunity for me to be involved at first-team level and possible get some games. "I'm a big lad and compete, but like to think that I can play a bit as well." Batth has been drafted in by Speed to provide cover for Kyle Bartley and Nyron Nosworthy at the heart of his back four, with club captain Chris Morgan set to sit out the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
