McNamara eyes return

Jackie McNamara is raring to get back to first team action after a long spell out.

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Jackie McNamara is ready to get back to first team action after a long spell out.

The 33-year-old has declared himself fit to face Hull at the weekend after a reserve-team run-out against Coventry on Tuesday.

McNamara has been restricted to just nine starts in his Wolves career, with his last outing coming against Norwich in April.

After playing the full 90 minutes against The Sky Blues, the Scotland international is keen to force his way into Mick McCarthy's plans for the weekend trip to The KC Stadium.

"I felt confident, my fitness is good and I'm looking forward to pushing for a first-team place," McNamara told the club's official website.

"The lads got a great result against Southend last time so I know I'll have to wait for my chance. But the boss knows I'm available."
