Tony Pulis has revealed Saido Berahino is in the 'naughty chair' over his recent comments about leaving West Brom.

The England U21 striker said earlier this week he would look to 'go on to bigger things' after hopefully helping the club stay in the Premier League for another season.

Tony Pulis says there was no interest in Saido Berahino in the January transfer window

Pulis says Berahino is likely to keep his place in the side for the vital Premier League clash with Burnley on Sunday, and he hopes the youngster will do his talking on the pitch, but he did confirm he has spoken to him about the comments.

"He's been in the naughty chair - but he's okay. It's not too far from my desk," he said.

"Again, I do feel he's gone and done an interview for something else, not for what he ended up talking about.

"The club has got to look at looking after the younger players and making sure they are guided through what is a minefield at times.

"I've spoken to him and I've spoken to his people. The most important thing Saido has got to do is don't talk about what he wants to do - but actually go out there and do it. That's what all the good players do. They actually go out and perform on the pitch."

Darren Fletcher admits he confided in Sir Alex Ferguson about his move to the Hawthorns

Darren Fletcher joined the Baggies on deadline day and he has liked what he has seen from Berahino in his first few days at the club, albeit revealing he has been the subject of plenty of friendly banter.

Fletcher said: "The lads got straight into him a little bit but it was all in good fun. He is young, he said something and he will learn from it. I know from being in the dressing room he loves West Brom and he wants to do well here.

"When you're young you say things you maybe regret, I have been there and I am sure every player has, you say something you wish you hadn't and you learn from these things. The biggest thing is, as long as he learns from it, it will help him in the future.

"He has been fine, the lads have given him a bit of stick but it was all in good fun and he has really impressed me both on and off the pitch."

Fletcher says he is ready to put all the success he earned at Manchester United behind him as he focuses on his new career with Albion at the Hawthorns.

He added: "I wish them (United) all the success in the world because the manager and the players have been fantastic. I have great memories but for me the challenge now and all my focus is West Brom.

"Everything I have done at Manchester United is done now my time is done and I wish them all the best but for me I  am just looking forward to West Brom and the future."
