Baggies captain eager to retain manager

West Brom captain Jonas Olsson believes it is paramount to the club's progress that manager Roy Hodgson stays at the Hawthorns. The former Liverpool and Fulham boss has been earmarked as a possible candidate to succeed Fabio Capello as England head coach. Hodgson has done well with the Baggies, as Sunday's 5-1 win over Wolves saw them move eight points clear of the bottom three. Olsson, who found the back of the net in the derby day success, is crossing his fingers the 64-year-old tactician does not leave for pastures new.

Organisation

Olsson told the Express and Star of Hodgson: "I think it is important for the club's development. Everyone at the club is very happy with him. "I am not surprised he is in the frame as one of the England candidates. He is a top manager and has done really well in the Premier League with Fulham and now us. "In all the years I've been here people have seen we can play some really good football. But what we were lacking before the current gaffer came in was organisation and the shape of the team. "He is a top coach at bringing that together, maybe the best in England - the best I have worked with from that perspective, definitely. I really hope for him to stay at this club."
