Greening to sort out contract

Jonathan Greening is confident of signing a new West Brom contract.

Jonathan Greening is confident of signing a new West Brom contract before the start of the season.

The midfielder confirmed after the club's play-off final defeat at the end of May that he is keen to commit his future to The Baggies.

And the former Manchester United youngster expects to resume contract negotiations upon his return from a pre-season training camp in Slovenia.

Greening also cites West Brom boss Tony Mowbray as a key factor in his decision not to seek a move to the Premier League.

"We're still talking with the chairman and when we get back we'll sort things out," Greening told the Birmingham Mail.

"The manager's put faith in me from day one and he's really stood by me.

"The manager's one of the reasons I want to commit my future to the club.

"I've had a few chats with him and he's told me who he wants to bring in, how he wants to play and that I'm in his plans.

"He wants to build a team to play the way I like to play and you can't ask for anything better than that as a player."
