Davies ready for Earnie

Curtis Davies is looking forward to the challenge of shackling Robert Earnshaw.

Curtis Davies is looking forward to the challenge of shackling former team-mate Robert Earnshaw on Saturday.

West Bromwich Albion entertain Norwich City, enabling Earnshaw to make his first return to The Hawthorns since leaving the club in January.

Earnshaw has scored 10 goals for Norwich this season and Baggies defender Davies knows what to expect.

"It will be good," Davies told Sky Sports News. "He's a good mate of mine.

"Obviously, I played against him in training, but it's a different ball game when you are out there on the big, green pitch.

"It will be an interesting battle."

Baggies manager Tony Mowbray also admits his players will have to be on their guard against the threat posed by the Wales international.

Mowbray said: "We're respectful of the goals he's scored this season, he's in double figures already.

"It's a big challenge for our defenders, of course, but I hope all the action is in the other goalmouth and that Robert doesn't see much of the ball."
