Keeper agrees to see out the season in Scotland

Dunfermline have completed the capture of goalkeeper Iain Turner on loan from Preston, with the deal set to run until the end of the season. The 27-year-old penned a one-year contract with the Lilywhites last summer, having impressed on loan during the previous campaign. He started the season as the League One outfit's number one and scored a freak goal in a third tier fixture against Notts County. A foot injury in November laid him low and offered Thorsten Stuckmann an opportunity to impress in his absence.

Opportunities

Turner has been unable to force his way back into the side since returning to full fitness and feels he must look elsewhere for first team football. Dunfermline are happy to offer him the chance to play week in, week out and are delighted to have brought him back to his native Scotland. Turner has spent the last eight years in England, with Everton having snapped him up from Stirling Albion while he was still in his teens. Now 27 years of age, he knows he must make every season count and it is for that reason that he has agreed to see out the remainder of the 2011/12 campaign at a club currently languishing at the foot of the SPL table.
