Agyemang out for six weeks

Preston North End expect Patrick Agyemang to be out for six weeks through injury.

Preston North End expect Patrick Agyemang to be out for six weeks through injury.

Agyemang has torn the hip flexor muscle in his right leg, having previously suffered the same problem in the other leg.

He is now likely to be out of action until the end of January, much to the disappointment of Paul Simpson.

The Preston boss had been hoping the striker would be sidelined for no longer than three weeks, but confirmed the extent of Agyemang's injury.

"He's got a tear to his right hip flexor which is the same injury he previously had on the left side," explained Simpson.

"His body has tried to compensate and it's affected the right side.

"We're looking at the possibility of him being out for five or six weeks, but the main thing is that we get it sorted now.

"He's frustrated and disappointed, but over recent weeks his performances have shown that he's not 100 per cent and it's been nagging away and it got to a point where he couldn't carry on."
