Millers throw away lead

Rotherham United threw away a two-goal lead to lose at Derby County.

Rotherham United threw away a two-goal lead to lose at Derby County with relegation looking increasingly likely for Ronnie Moore's Millers.

The basement side raced into the lead but were undone by a Derby side that recorded their first home win since September.

Chris Swailes and Rob Scott put the Yorkshire side in the driving seat with 35 minutes gone. Defender Swailes headed home superbly from a John Mullin corner to claim his first goal for almost a year.

Scott turned the ball home from a free kick by sweetly volleying his first strike since 2001 and the visitors were hoping for their first win of the league campaign.

Grzegorz Rasiak climbed well to head home for The Rams seven minutes before half time and Paul Peschisolido came off the bench to lift the hosts' spirits further.

When Inigo Idiakez hit the bar, the Canadian substitute followed up to haul the hosts level after 58 minutes.

Jamie Victory's lovely strike flew past Mike Pollitt and into the net off a post to leave Rotherham boss Moore dejected.

"I have said to the players that we could end up with the worst points record ever if we don't start believing," he complained afterwards.
