DERBY STILL CHASING BRAGSTAD

DERBY COUNTY have said that they are still very much interested in signing Norwegian international Otto Bragstad, and that they are waiting to hear of the player's decision on his future.

Bragstad has attracted the attention of clubs throughout Europe, but his club Rosenborg have confirmed that they have only accepted offers from Derby and French side St Etienne, and the player is now set to make a decision on where his future lies within the next few days.

"We are waiting for a decision from the player," confirmed Rams boss Jim Smith. "And already have a deal in place with Rosenborg.

"St Etienne would like to take him to France and we want him at Derby. We completed two transfers that were comparatively straightforward, but this one is proving more difficult."

Meanwhile, Smith has confirmed that he intends to play new signing Daniel Higginbotham as a left back - hinting that he may be more flexible with his tactics for next season, in order to accommodate the latest addition to his playing staff.

"We'll see how pre-season goes, and nothing is ever rigid," added Smith. "We have to be able to adapt."
