Midfielder put on transfer list

Liam Miller has been told he can leave Sunderland after he was put on the club's transfer list. Miller, who is currently working his way back from a calf injury, can only join a Football League club on an emergency loan deal before the end of the current campaign. A permanent transfer is not permitted until after the season, in May, when the transfer window re-opens. The 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international joins Ross Wallace, David Connolly, Ian Harte, Stephen Wright, Graham Kavanagh, Greg Halford and Stanislav Varga on Sunderland's transfer list. Miller has made 13 Premier League starts this season and joined the Black Cats from Manchester United in 2006 on a free transfer.
