Arca content at Black Cats

Sunderland favourite Julio Arca has once again reiterated that he is more than happy at the First Division club and could soon be ready to commit his long-term future to The Black Cats.

The mercurial Argentinian wide man, currently ruled out with a knee injury - he will not play again this season - has played an integral role in the club's bid to regain their top-flight status at the first attempt.

Arca has just one year left on his current deal and with several clubs circling over Sunderland's prized asset, a bid could well arrive in the summer.

However, the player remains content with life in the North East and shows little inclination to move clubs.

''I am very happy at Sunderland,'' Arca told the club's official website. ''I always have been and would love to sign a new contract with the club. That is my aim.

''It is a fantastic club, a big club with great fans and I hope to be here after next year.

''Everything at the moment is focussed on trying to get back in the Premier League, that's what everyone wants.

''I don't want to leave, but I'm not thinking about contracts or my future until this season is over.''
