Fit-again Croatian striker in line to feature

Walter Smith says that Nikica Jelavic is poised to make his Rangers return against Hamilton while Kenny Miller is also in the frame. Summer signing Jelavic has been out of action since the start of October and required surgery on a serious ankle injury. However, he has recovered from the injury and has resumed full-time training this weekend ahead of the visit of Hamilton. Smith doubts whether the Croatia international will be handed a surprise start, although he expects him to feature at some stage.

Return

"Jelavic will be involved," said Smith. "I certainly don't see him being involved from the start but there's a possibility he'll have an opportunity as a sub. "He's had a hard week's training and we'll see how he feels tomorrow before we make a decision but he's now just about ready to come back." Smith has confirmed that Miller is also likely to feature after being left of out of their squad in Monday's 3-0 success over Kilmarnock.
Involved
The striker is out of contract in the summer and has held talks with Birmingham and Fiorentina, and Smith insists that his situation remains unchanged. "There has been no change as far as we are concerned, his situation is still in the hands of Kenny and his advisors," he continued. "He will be available for us tomorrow. He hasn't signed for anybody yet so he is still a Rangers player. "I felt the other night that there was an awful lot surrounding him but that has settled down a little bit so he will be involved in the game."
