Parkinson to offer deal to keeper

Charlton are hoping to retain keeper Darren Randolph by handing him a new contract for next season. It was thought Randolph would leave The Valley this summer after growing frustrated at first-team opportunities. However, after featuring and impressing in the club's last 11 games this season Phil Parkinson now wants him to stay. Parkinson has been thrilled with Randolph's turnaround and now wants him to compete with Rob Elliot for the club's number one jersey.

Offer

"We will be offering a contract to Darren," Parkinson told the South London Press. "It's been a good turnaround for him and he's done very well. "If he signs for us then he'll be competing with Rob for the number one shirt. "I've told them both to go away this summer and come back ready for a battle."
