Birmingham go in search of second win in 2008

David Murphy is hoping that Birmingham can build on Saturday's comprehensive 4-1 win over Tottenham. The victory was the Blues' first since the turn of the year, and January arrival Murphy is keen to ensure that it will be followed by a second away at Portsmouth next Wednesday. While remaining confident that there is enough quality within the squad to drag themselves out of their current predicament, Murphy also believes that they cannot afford to bask in the glory of past performances for too long and that attentions must now be focused on the forthcoming trip to Fratton Park.

Pleasing

"We deserved to beat Spurs," he said. "We have been creating chances, unfortunately we hadn't been taking them. That's why it was good to see Mikael Forssell putting them away. "And it was nice to be in the lead and hold it instead of fight back or go down. "Personally, it was pleasing because the first three games I've played for the club had all been draws.
Complacency
"It was our first win this year, so it was a big boost. Hopefully we can take it on into Portsmouth. "We should be confident we can climb the table. But every game we go into we have got to give 100 per cent. "There is no place for complacency or not giving the bare minimum of 100 per cent. "Spurs was a great result, and it was good for our goal difference, but we have to get ourselves ready for Portsmouth now."
