Port Vale have signed Birmingham youngster David Howland on loan until the end of the season.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 is yet to turn out for the Blues' first team but is a regular for the reserves.
The midfielder only heard of Vale's interest when he arrived for training on Tuesday morning and revealed he did not need to think twice about joining the League One side.
Pleased
He told the club's official website: "I got into training and I was informed about the interest from Port Vale and as soon as I heard, I jumped at the opportunity.
"I've been playing in the reserves now for a while, so it's the next step and I hope I can do well in first-team football.
"Hopefully I can get in and make my mark. I played against the reserves last season and I could tell then they are a good club, I'm really looking forward to it."
