The Christmas period has come to an end and like with all footballers it really has just been a normal part of the year for me.You don't really get the chance to the chance to have a normal Christmas as it were, as you don't see the family or get a chance to socialise etc, but this what we get paid for and plenty of people would love to do what we do.
On the field and December could not have gone much better as we managed five wins on the bounce and then a draw to finish off.
For me again it was a bit frustrating as I didn't get the start I wanted, although I did manage to get the equaliser against Luton which was good.
At the moment I have a good scoring considering how many starts I have made, that is a real target of mine for the New Year - I really want that chance to get a run in the team and in my proper position.
We are all looking forward to the FA Cup tie on Saturday with Newcastle, especially after our defeat to Ipswich on New Year's day.
The result at Ipswich in a lot of ways brought us down to earth, I don't think we under-estimated them at all - but it is not a totally bad thing in making sure we don't get carried away with things.
Newcastle is a big test for us, but it will also give everyone at the club a chance to measure how far we have come and our standard at the moment.

Neil, I have been very impressed with your appearences so far from Birmingham, are you happy with your move to Blues' and do you see yourself here in the future?
I am very happy with how things are going and ideally I would love to stay at Birmingham for a long time. Obviously in an ideal world I would like to be playing more, but hopefully that will improve.
