Foyle rues Painter decision

Port Vale boss Martin Foyle was frustrated to miss out on the signing of Marcos Painter.

Port Vale boss Martin Foyle has expressed his frustration after missing out on the loan signing of Marcos Painter.

Foyle had been close to bringing in the young full back from Birmingham City, only for Swansea City to make a late bid.

Painter opted for a move to South Wales and he could line up for Swansea against Vale in League One on Saturday.

Though Foyle is not upset with the 20-year-old, he admits he is disappointed to have been beaten to the punch by The Swans.

"I don't hold any grudges, but I am absolutely gutted," Foyle told The Sentinel.

"Swansea weren't in for him, but their defender Tom Williams had his hernia done over the weekend.

"It's just another blow."
