Championship Pro-Life

Neil Danns checks in for another instalment.

Well it can only be said that we have made a very good start to the new season.

We currently sit in fourth and have on the whole had a good set of results.

As a side we have noticed how quickly people come to regard us, you see teams changing their styles to a more defensive system just purely trying to stop us - but as one of the favourites we know we can expect that.

It has been a big learning curve for me in recent weeks, I have learnt so much in a small space of time. Playing with players of this quality is a big thing.

I have not started as many games as perhaps I would have liked, but that is no criticism at all - the squad we have is awesome and everyone knows you will play your part in what is a very long season.

I am pleased with my form and I will continue to keep working hard, the gaffer and all the lads are great and I really could not be on any more of a high with the whole situation.

I am now hoping that I will be involved from the start on Saturday, but I don't think anyone but the gaffer knows that at the moment.

Obviously the weekend sees me come face to face with my former boss Phil Parkinson - now manager of Hull.

I owe so much to Phil. He took the chance on me at Colchester and I really can hardly put into words what he did for me, he was such a good influence. I know I would not be where I am today without him and it will be great to see him again.

Finally I would like to say thanks for all the feedback that has been coming into the site for me, it is much appreciated and will endeavour to answer it throughout the season.

Cheers Neil.

I would like to ask Neill Danns which Championship player he most admires/respects?

Well that is quite an easy one for me really as it would be David Dunn. I was at Blackburn when he was also there and I have always tried to take things from him. He is a great player who has proved himself and international class player and so I still look to him as he remains a class act.

Neil congratulations on your move to Birmingham and as a Blues fan I would like to say how impressed I have been with your contribution to the midfield so far. My question to Neil is what are your expectations for the coming season with the Blues?

Well Arun as I have said all along we are a confident squad. You just look around and you can see how impressive the whole place is and so we would obviously be looking for promotion and you have to be positive.
