Adams eyes Hutchison deal

Coventry City boss Micky Adams is hopeful of completing a deal for Don Hutchison.

Coventry City boss Micky Adams is hopeful of completing a permanent deal for loan man Don Hutchison.

The former Scotland international joined The Sky Blues on loan from Championship rivals Millwall back in late November after falling out of favour in his spell at The Den.

The 34-year-old has made a positive impression in his five appearances, with a goal in each of the club's last two matches - including a spectacular volley strike in the 3-1 defeat at Leeds United on Boxing Day.

Adams admits a permanent deal is on the cards following Hutchison's mutual departure from The Lions.

"We've seen his contribution here over the last few weeks and it's been considerable," Adams said.

"If you were to ask Don, I think he'd tell you his Millwall career is over.

"So when the transfer window opens, we hope to conclude something."

With one Millwall player set to complete his departure, Millwall boss David Tuttle has extended the emergency loan of Birmingham City goalkeeper Colin Doyle for another week.

The 20-year-old will now remain with the South East London outfit until January 5, having initially joined on a seven-day loan deal one week ago.
