Friendlies round-up

Internazionale's controversial tour of England started with a 2-1 win at Leicester.

Internazionale's controversial tour of England got off to a winning start with a 2-1 win at Leicester.

Robert Mancini's side eventually made it over to England after originally cancelling their tour due to security fears, but they arrived at The Walkers Stadium without a number of their top stars.

The likes of Alvaro Recoba, Edgar Davids and Juan Sebastian Veron were among 11 who declined to travel citing safety fears in the wake of the London terrorist attacks.

Mancini's side did include Dejan Stankovic, Sinisa Mihajlovic and Marco Materazzi, and they came away with a 2-1 win over The Foxes with goals from Santiago Solari and Lampros Choutos.

Chris O'Grady grabbed a late consolation for Craig Levein's side from the penalty spot but Inter came away with the win.

A Birmingham City XI made the trip down to Devon to face Exeter but it was The Grecians who came away victorious with a 3-2 success.

Bristol rivals Rovers and City faced each other in a pre-season derby friendly at The Memorial Ground, and Grant Smith scored the only goal of the game to earn a 1-0 win for The Robins.

Young defender Robbie Williams scored both goals for Barnsley as they beat Championship new boys Hull City at Oakwell.
