Bergdolmo move ruled out

Birmingham will not sign Norwegian Andre Bergdolmo on a permanent basis.

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has ruled out taking Andre Bergdolmo to the club on a permanent basis.

The veteran Norwegian stopper has been training with the Premiership outfit after leaving Borussia Dortmund in June.

Bergdolmo told skysports.com that he was due to play for Birmingham on Tuesday evening but was unable to appear because of problems over insurance and it now appears he is heading elsewhere.

Bruce has confirmed that the player has been offered a long-term deal elsewhere and that it is unlikely that he will be lining up at St Andrews next term.

''I believe he's signing for another club in the next 24 to 48 hours," said Bruce.

"I think he's got an offer of a couple of years' contract and that's his prerogative, so he won't be signing here.

"In an ideal world we would have liked him to come here for a couple of weeks.

"It doesn't change the situation with Olivier Bernard."

Meanwhile, Birmingham's young goalkeeper Colin Doyle is reportedly attracting interest from Cork City boss Damien Richardson - with a possible loan deal mooted.
