Dunn to have injection

Birmingham are hoping an injection will finally end David Dunn's injury problems.

Birmingham City are hoping an injection will finally bring an end to David Dunn's injury problems.

Dunn is currently sidelined after aggravating a hamstring injury during pre-season and Blues are trying to get to the bottom of the problem.

The midfielder has played only once since the end of February and is currently no nearer a first team comeback.

He has visited a specialist, who feels the 24-year-old's hamstring complaint could be attributed to a nerve in his back.

The former Blackburn Rovers ace is now due to have an injection next week in a bid to solve the problem once and for all.

Blues boss Steve Bruce is optimistic that the nerve issue is the reason why Dunn has been plagued by his hamstring injury.

"The problem has been trying to identify the cause of Dunny's injury," said Bruce.

"They think it's nerves in his back which run in to the hamstring and aren't functioning properly.

"He's going to have an injection in to the nerve next week. Hopefully, that will do the trick."
