Bruce wants to tie down players

Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce is ready to reward promising young defender Matt Sadler by offering him a new two-year contract.

Bruce is also looking to resolve the future of a number of players who are out of contract in the summer including Jovan Kirovski, Stern John, Nico Vaesen and Bryan Hughes.

Sadler, who is currently on loan at Northampton, is highly-rated within the corridors of St Andrews and Bruce believes he has a bright future in the game.

"Matt will be offered a new two-year deal," said Bruce.

Bruce is keen to keep all his players who are out of contract in the summer, and revealed he will be sitting down with them over the next few months to discuss things.

"I've got Kirovski, Hughes, John and Vaesen out of contract in the summer and we'll be sitting down over the next two or three months and seeing where they are and where we are," added Bruce.
