Carl Ikeme - Wolverhampton Wanderers
Ikeme has made the number one shirt his own at Molineux this season and Wayne Hennessey will have a tough task winning his place back once he returns to full fitness. Ikeme put in another assured display between the sticks at Blackburn on Saturday, with a clean sheet helping Wolves to three points and third place in the Championship table.
Chris Solly - Charlton Athletic
Few would have expected Charlton to take much from a trip to high-flying Blackpool heading into the weekend, but they left Bloomfield Road with an impressive 2-0 success. The undoubted highlight of the day for the Addicks was Solly's spectacular second half strike. He collected the ball 25 yards from goal and lashed an unstoppable drive into the top corner.
Damien Delaney - Crystal Palace
The game of the weekend in the Championship came at Selhurst Park, as Crystal Palace prevailed in a seven-goal thriller against Burnley. The Eagles trailed 2-0 after half-an-hour but stunned the Clarets with a four-goal burst, which included a first for the club from Republic of Ireland international Delaney.
Leon Cort - Charlton Athletic
Charlton's heroics at Blackpool have already been covered, but it has to be noted that both of their goals came from defensive sources. Solly's stunner may have stolen the headlines, but it was centre-half Cort who broke the deadlock and put Chris Powell's side on course for their second away win of the season.
George Friend - Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough's cause at Watford was undoubtedly aided by the dismissal of Matej Vydra, but they had recovered from falling behind inside the opening 60 seconds to level matters before a red card was brandished. They were then able to find a second, while Friend and his defensive colleagues did enough to keep the back door firmly bolted.
Wilfried Zaha - Crystal Palace
Premier League clubs have been sniffing around Zaha for some time now, and it is easy to see why. He continues to catch the eye in the second tier and appears to possess all of the attributes required to make the step up into the top flight. He added another two goals to his tally on Saturday as he helped Palace to hit back against Burnley.
Andy King - Leicester City
Nigel Pearson has quietly guided Leicester to second place in the Championship table, with things starting to click at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes have struggled for consistency in recent years, but this could be the season in which they secure promotion back to the big time. Skipper King will be hoping to lead the way, and he helped Pearson's men to a 2-0 victory over Bristol City on Saturday.
Bakary Sako -Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolves have moved ominously up the standings after shaking off a relegation hangover and showed in their latest outing that they are capable of grinding out results. A 1-0 win on the road at Blackburn did not come easy, but a solitary effort from Sako was enough to send them home with the spoils.
Andy Reid - Nottingham Forest
Reid is renowned for having a wand of a left foot, and he put it to good use against Peterborough as Nottingham Forest recorded their third win of the season at London Road. Reid gathered the ball on halfway, strode forward, displaying a surprising turn of pace, before crashing a stinging drive into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Darius Henderson - Millwall
Henderson doubled his goal return for the season as Millwall edged out out-of-sorts Bolton at The Den. The experienced frontman bagged a match-winning brace for the Lions, as they clambered out of the drop zone and piled pressure on under-fire Trotters boss Owen Coyle.
Heidar Helguson - Cardiff City
Cardiff left it late to pick up three points at Ipswich and strengthen their grip on top spot, with there just two minutes left on the clock when Helguson nodded home from close range. The Icelandic frontman had earlier hauled the Bluebirds level and could not have timed a deadly double any better.
