Wolves are trying to sign Crystal Palace's Jonny Williams on loan.
The Molineux side are keen to bring the midfielder to aid their play-off push in the Sky Bet Championship ahead of Thursday's 5pm loan deadline.
Williams has struggles to break into the Eagles side and has spent time on loan at Ipswich in the past two seasons.
Wolves are eighth in the table, three points behind the top six, with seven games remaining.
Head coach Kenny Jackett told the Wolverhampton Express & Star: "Jonny Williams is a player we have made an enquiry for and expressed an interest in.
"He's a player who has done very well in the Championship so we'll have to see how the afternoon develops because there is a lot of interest in him.
"Talks are ongoing at the top level - Jez Moxey (Wolves chief executive) is talking to (Palace chief executive) Phil Alexander about an emergency loan.
"We haven't got anything over the line but there are attempts to get someone over the line."
