Derby midfielder Jeff Hendrick has won the Football Association of Ireland's Young International Player of the Year award.

The 23-year-old received the trophy at an awards ceremony in Dublin on Sunday evening, claiming the title ahead of Derby team-mate Cyrus Christie and Hull midfielder Robbie Brady.

Hendrick, who progressed through Derby's academy, has made 10 senior appearances for the Republic of Ireland since making his debut in 2013.

He made his debut for Derby aged 19 in April 2011 and has gone on to make 169 first-team appearances, scoring 23 goals.
