Derby midfielder Jeff Hendrick expects to be fit for Saturday's crunch Sky Bet Championship clash with Nottingham Forest, despite suffering a nasty cut in last weekend's 1-0 win over Ipswich.
The midfielder had to leave the pitch 10 minutes early at Portman Road following a clash of heads but will be patched up for the next game.
"I'm okay, I have got a few stitches, but I wanted to stay on," the 22-year-old told Rams Player.
"I was told that the cut above my eye wouldn't stop bleeding so I was advised that it was best for me to come off and get it stitched up.
"I have trained the past three days and I have got through it fine. I have only had to head the ball twice!" he joked.
Having thrashed Forest 5-0 at home last season, Hendrick is hoping for more of the same at iPro Stadium.
"It isn't going to take a lot to get us up for that game," he added.
"The atmosphere is going to be unbelievable, as usual, but we have just got to keep focussed and be ready for the game."
