Transfer news: Fawaz Al Hasawi looking to further strengthen Nottingham Forest

Chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has vowed to strengthen Nottingham Forest year on year, with loan arrivals possible.

Since taking charge at the City Ground in 2012, Al Hasawi and his family have pumped considerable funds into the reshaping of the Forest squad.

New boss Stuart Pearce has been backed again over the summer, with £8million spent – including a club-record deal for Britt Assombalonga – in the pursuit of promotion back to the Premier League.

Al Hasawi has assured supporters that he will continue to show the level of support required to deliver results, with it possible that deals for Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles – two academy graduates sold to Newcastle United during the recent transfer window – will be addressed at some stage in the future.

All the players he wants – if he wants to buy or if he wants to loan them – he knows I am always behind him. I want to give him everything he asks for. I want to make things right for him this season.

He said in the Nottingham Post: "I will make Forest stronger and stronger every year that I am here.

"Every year I will make the side strong, every year I will work to push Forest.

"What we did this summer is sell two good players in Lascelles and Darlow. Some people thought that we had just taken the money.

"But we did not. We took the money so that we could buy more players for the club, so that we could make us stronger. We kept Darlow and Lascelles for the season and, with that money from Newcastle, we invested in the team.

"We brought Assombalonga, Michail Antonio, Matty Fryatt, Michael Mancienne, Robert Tesche, Jack Hunt – and probably others I have forgotten.

"All these players are good players and all are good for Nottingham. That is why we are doing well; that is why the manger is happy.

"Maybe next season we will sign them again, maybe we will even buy them back.

"In the future, you never know. If we go into the Premier League, perhaps we can talk with Newcastle. We can perhaps loan the players again or even buy them back. Alternatively, we will buy other players."

Of more immediate concern to Forest are unfortunate injuries , with skipper Chris Cohen facing up to another lengthy spell on the sidelines, and Al Hasawi says the loan market will be scoured for cover if Pearce decides that further fresh faces are required.

He added: "He has my full support. For any player he wants, I will be behind him. I will support him.

"All the players he wants – if he wants to buy or if he wants to loan them – he knows I am always behind him.

"I want to give him everything he asks for. I want to make things right for him this season.

"Everyone at the club will support him, because we trust him, we have seen the players he has brought in so far."
