Will Hoskins has taken another big step towards a return for Brighton.

The 27-year-old striker, who has been sidelined for more than a year with a knee injury which required two operations, travelled with the Seagulls squad to Bolton last weekend but was not named on the bench.

Hoskins then made another appearance for the club's Under-21s on Monday afternoon, scoring a goal and playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

And with Jon Obika having been recalled from his loan spell by Tottenham, and subsequently loaned to Charlton, boss Oscar Garcia has the option to name Hoskins in his squad to face Ipswich on Saturday.

Fellow striker Craig Mackail-Smith played 60 minutes as he continues his rehabilitation from a long-term Achilles injury.
