Leeds duo attracting interest

Five clubs keen on McCormack; Warnock out to keep White

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock does not want to sell Ross McCormack unless a replacement is already on board, while he hopes to keep Aidy White. Warnock admitted last week that Leeds had received offers for McCormack and he has now revealed that up to five clubs are in the hunt for his signature. The striker has another year left on his current deal and Warnock would prefer to bring new players in before he thinks about letting anyone go. White is in a slightly different position as he is out of contract, although the 20-year-old has returned to training and Leeds are entitled to compensation if he goes elsewhere. Warnock says there has been interest in White but remains confident he will stay at Elland Road and plans to hold further talks.

Vying

Speaking about the duo, Warnock told the club's official website: "Ross has got many people who like him. "There's four at the moment and there's another one who has phoned me this week. There's probably five clubs vying for his signature. "If we lose players like that we have to have replacements and have them on board. I don't think we want to be waiting and letting them go, we want to get some players in. We need to look at things day by day because it's changing. "It's like Aidy White, there's a couple of people spoken to him. I'd like Aidy to stay but we have to negotiate with his advisors and come up with an agreement that he's happy with as well. I don't think he's looking to leave."
Difficult
There are just a few weeks to go until the start of the season and Warnock admits it has been a tricky time as he tries to strengthen his squad, but he is staying optimistic. "We're still in the process with the due diligence, and it's difficult at this moment in time to plan," explained the manager. "It's not the best of situations because you want to bring players in and bed them in, but this is an unknown factor. "It's taking a while to get each and every one over the line at the moment, but hopefully we'll move that along."
