Sky Sports understands Huddersfield Town are in talks to sign former Dundee United defender Paul Dixon.
Cardiff and Leicester had been mooted as suitors of the 25-year-old left-back but it now looks as though Simon Grayson's side have entered the running for his signature.
Grayson is keen to add a competitive edge to his squad having guided Town to the Championship at the first attempt, via the League One play-offs last term.
Dixon is available as a free agent after leaving The Terrors at the end of last season, upon the completion of his contract.
In a four-year spell at Dundee United, upon joining them from city rivals Dundee in 2008, Dixon made 145 appearances.
