Barnsley seal signing of Egyptian on a free

Sky Sports understands that Barnsley have completed the signing of Mido on a one-year deal, with an option for a further 12 months. Mido makes the move to Oakwell on a free transfer following his departure from Egyptian club Zamalek, having agreed terms with the Tykes last week. It is a major coup for Keith Hill to pull off such a signing and he will hope the striker prospers during his latest spell in England. Mido has previously spent time with Tottenham and Middlesbrough, as well as having loan spells at Wigan and West Ham. In a much-travelled career, the 29-year-old has also played for Gent, Ajax, Celta Vigo, Marseille and Roma.
