Paul Jewell has not given up hope of bringing Jimmy Bullard to Ipswich.

Free agent attracting interest from numerous clubs

Paul Jewell has not given up hope of bringing Jimmy Bullard to Ipswich and will battle his Premier League suitors for his signature. The affable 32-year-old enjoyed a three-month loan stint at Portman Road last season and his displays so captivated supporters he was voted their player of the year. Bullard's contract with Hull City has recently been terminated which has sparked a chase for his signature. Jewell managed Bullard earlier in his career at Wigan and hopes his knowledge of the player, coupled with the midfielder's desire to play regularly, might swing the deal in his favour.

Spoke

"I spoke to Jimmy and his agent twice yesterday and once on Sunday with the owner about him," Jewell told the club's official website. "He had a meeting with QPR and there are a couple of other Premier League teams in for him, but we are trying to be competitive and we are trying to bring him here. "Jimmy is going to be very expensive but he does also want to play football so we are trying to do something with him."
