Guinea defender free to join Turkish side after compensation deal

Hull City have released Kamil Zayatte's registration to Turkish club Konyaspor for 'nominal compensation'. The Tigers revealed last week they allowed the Guinea international to leave the Championship club with immediate effect in order to return home to France on compassionate grounds. The 25-year-old defender walked away from a contract that still had 18 months to run and was worth a reported £20,000-a-week. Hull retained his registration in the event of securing future compensation if Zayatte joined another club, and an agreement has now been reached allowing Zayatte to complete a move to Turkey.

Best wishes

"Kamil leaves with the club's best wishes and regards for his future career," read a club statement. Zayatte initially joined the Tigers on loan from Swiss side Young Boys in August 2008 before finalising a £2.5million transfer later that season. The former Lens trainee scored four goals in 79 appearances for the club, including 17 starts this season. The Tigers have since signed 23-year-old Tunisia midfielder Tijani Belaid until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
